Sweet, Sweet Little Ramona

I spent the day today with this little girl. We talked and cooed and gurgled at one another. There were lots of smiles between us, and plenty of bouncing up and down. And maybe a few tears were shed, but nothing that some patting and holding and cuddling couldn't fix.

And what might be the name of this adorable, dark-eyed cutie? Well, she has a long and lovely formal Islamic name. She also has a cute but still meaningful Arabic nickname. But just for me, she has a special third name: Ramona.

What a beautiful, honorable and powerful name. And while it might seem like a lot to expect from a seven-month-old baby, I have a very good feeling that Ramona will will one day live up to the great promise of her name.
