You know that feeling that you get when you're waiting for something extraordinary to happen?
There's a certain kind of electricity that zaps from person to person.
Everywhere you go, you hear the hushed excited tones, Did you hear?? It's coming!
Quietly, without fanfare, preparations are made.
Silently, without notice, the conditions begin to shift, hinting that change is in the air.
It is a very exciting and sweet kind of anticipation.
Today, Stevens Pass was crackling with that very energy. See, there is snow in the forecast. I mean BIG snow. In the past few days, the flakes have been falling with cheerfully moderate determination but tomorrow, it's supposed to start dumping. Expected snowfall for the next three days is 37 inches, and the likelihood of precipitation is 100%. For skiers and snowboarders, this is our fondest wish come true.
Suffice it to say that today, as heavy grey clouds filled the skies, flurries began to accumulate on the lush evergreens, snowplows busily swept the roadways clear, and everyone on the mountain was dusted with the precious white stuff, there was a LOT of excitement on the mountain.
Did you hear?? It's coming!! The snow is coming tomorrow!
