It's a hot night for football in the heart of every Kelantanese tonight. Everyone I know from that proud state of Malaysia is either gathering at
Stadium Nasional Bukit Jalil or wishing they were.
In all honesty, I'm not exactly sure of the significance of this match. I can't even get a firm read on who they are playing. But I know that it's a big night, and the Red Warriors of Kelantan are
the team to beat in Malaysia this season.
My
Facebook and Instagram feeds have been jam-packed with images from over there. Check out a few of the scenes that have crossed my path tonight:

{A big trimo kasih to all my Kelate friends who shared their pics with me.}
It looks like a very happening scene - fun, festive and full of excitement. It's funny to me that the game will finally begin in the dead of my night; because of the time differences, their 8 p.m. start time is my 5 a.m. dawn. So when the pregame hype reaches its cresendo and the crowd finally has a reason to roar and stamp its feet, I'll be tucked in my little bed, snoozing away and probably dreaming about a victory.
Because I do hope they win. After all, I did my part to bring some American luck to the team.
Gomo Kelate Gomo!

ReplyDeleteI love nice anonymous comments because 1) they are nice and 2) they are anonymous. That means I get the fun of wondering who left them for me. So mysterious!
