Tapestry Of Gold

Weather-wise, today was a wild autumn day.

Every time I turned around, something different was going on outside.

Pounding rainstorms.
Glorious cloud breaks.
Fierce winds.
Misty raindrops.
Overcast gloom.

As the atmospheric conditions whiplashed me back and forth between their extremes, I noticed a consistent undercurrent.

A thread of gold wove through every crazy landscape that the day had to offer.

^ In a break between the rain showers, Ranger is charged up and ready to head out on our walk. But that yellow tree. And the yellow bench. And the carpet of yellow leaves scattered across the neighbors' lawn.

^ Raindrops sparkle on the windshield as I drive past my favorite stretch of golden maples.

^ My bird bath is clogged with decaying leaves in all shades of gold. Don't even care.

^ A perfect golden tree arches across the gloomy sky.

^ Brilliant yellow leaves tinged with scarlet and green on my rose bush. Ranger abides patiently.

^ Morning skies are turbulent but dreamily gilded with gold.

It is not every day that comes with its own color scheme, and I appreciate this impressive feat of natural beauty. Thank you, Thursday, for your tapestry of gold.
