Yes. It's me.
And I have no shame.
See, I'm a diehard wearer of contact lenses who has not worn a pair of glasses in decades. Literally.
But I recently found out that I need to have some surgery on my eyes, and to prepare for that, my eyeballs must be contact lens-free for four weeks minimum.
Yikes. I have to wear glasses.
And yes, I did order a new pair of glasses. I am boldly moving into the new millennium with a pair of fashion-forward frames and a fresh prescription. They should be ready in about a week.
But in the meantime, I want to get my four-week clock ticking. So I decided to take off my contacts and slip into these old relics.
I know these frames look ridiculous now, but just remember, they are from the eighties when it was hip to be pretty in pink.
Hey Lady, I've been wearing glasses more often now, too. I was so excited for my contacts when I was a senior in high school that I thought I'd never look back! But I've been rediscovering how fun wearing glasses can be. Plus I find it assists with any naptimes that pop up.
ReplyDeleteAnd I love your hair. It's so pretty. I love that you keep it natural, it's beautiful.
I'm glad you are loving your specs but I must confess that I am only wearing glasses for medical necessity. Sigh. :)
DeleteI'm impressed you can still see through a prescription from the 80's. My eyes have not aged that well. Which is too bad, because I'd love to throw on my 80's glasses every now and then! :)
ReplyDeleteI was so surprised to find that the old prescription still works for me, too! The only real problem is that the earpieces are a little stretched out from all the times my baby daughters tried on these relics for dress-up. I NEVER thought I would ever be wearing them again!!
