If you have had your fill of my snow-covered scenes and mountain vistas from Stevens Pass, then please accept my apology and jog on, because this post is not for you.
I love, love, love pictures of snowy mountains. To me, each one is different and special. The atmospheric conditions, the terrain in the foreground and background, the framing of each shot, the angle of the sun, the condition of the snow - so many factors influence what I see in each particular photo and I can never get enough.
This past Monday, my youngest and I headed up for an afternoon/early evening session. To our surprise and delight, it was a mostly bluebird day.
Hmm, if you are not a mountain regular, you may not be familiar with the term, "bluebird." But I bet that after you feast your eyes on these mementos of the day, you will figure it out.
That's right! A bluebird day is a sunny day on the mountain, where the clear skies are sooooo overwhelmingly and blazingly blue that they barely seem real. There is a special cheer and good spirit that goes with such a day, and sometimes we even wear sunscreen.
One of Stevens Pass' logos is a celebration of this special event, and I think it's full of charm. Happy Bluebird Day!
Oh my gosh, this looks glorious! And I didn't know what a bluebird day was until this post!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Court! I am glad to be a full-service blog.;)
